Police clearance for Spousal Sponsorship(UK to Canada) question.

Hey guys,
I'm working through the checklist in the immigration guide and I have a question about police clearance.
In that section is says "Police clearances...for you and everyone in your family..". Does family mean myself and my husband or does that literally mean myself, father, mother and sister plus my husband and his mother and father?
I'm noticing that throughout the guide the word "family" is used a lot and I'm still confused. To reiterate, family as in myself and my husband(who is being sponsored) or, literally our parents and siblings?

Alright, so if you are a Canadian citizen or a legal permanent resident, and you are sponsoring your husband, then only he needs to send CIC a police certificate. Therefore, his parents and other family members that do NOT come with you to Canada will NOT need to submit police certificates. I hope this answers your question. The sponsor does NOT need to send a police certificate, but ONLY the sponsored partie(s).

Hi, I got my police clearance today which will be released first week of March. Our wedding is on March 30 in Canada so I am gathering all the documents that I can get from the Philippines so that we can submit it to CIC-M right after. My question is, is it ok if in the police clearance, my maiden name is reflected and not yet the name of my fiance? Should I need to get another police clearance reflecting my husband's name after we get married and send it over to Manila Processing Center as additional document? The Police Clearance that will be issued is valid for 1 year.

its ok you dont need to have your husbands surname on PCC but it should be same as on your passport

I don't want to be negative but it's better to get another PCC clearance and declare that you are married.. You need to change it anyway later after you get married and also your name on your passport.. If I am in your situation I'll do this now to avoid any delays/problems on your application and I will include also the first PCC with my maiden name..

For her specific case, she needs to have her boyfriend submit an original police certificate for the United Kingdom and every other country he has lived in for 6 months or more since the age of 18 years or over, if applicable. If he has any dependents, whether or not they will be accompanying him to Canada, he should do the same thing for them. Medicals are also required for dependents, whether they are accompanying or not. I suspect OP's boyfriend does not have any dependents, though.
