Police Clearance certificate

I was wondering if any of you have this problem, I was asked to submit police clearance certificate last year (Aug 2010) which I did. In the UK this certificate has a validity of 3 months and cost 35 pound each to get it. Last week Canadian high commission in London wrote to me asking for an up to date certificate as it has expired(meaning I have to get a another one) . It has expired due to the delay in their part and I was wondering why I have to pay for it again due to their incempetent. Is there any one I can complain to write to? Our medical took place last November and that has a validity of 12 months so that will expire in nov 2010, I have a strange feeling that that will likely to expire as well before they issue us immigrant visa. Please advise how do I handle this.

my advise to you even before digesting the content of your post is to submit the police clearance as requested. Certainly you don't want to delay the process any longer by trying to 'argue' your way out. I had my PCC from London too, and they are really fast, especially the premium service. (which will cost u 70 quid). You can beat the med expiration. Your passport request is really dependent on this, my friend. Good luck! Mandie

Well dear...from CHC side, i do not think that there is any committment over timelines for granting visas. Process takes time and i really understand the frustration i could have due to these situations.

There is officially no way u can lodge complain and do not fulfill their requirement. If u do not comply, may affect your application.

God forbidden u do not get any reply before medical expiry, u may be asked to redo the medical and no way out. So many other applicants are in the same situation too

BritishImmigrant, a lot of expenses can occur during this process. Our first application was returned due to error on our agents part,so we had to reapply under new rules, with expense for Ielts test ,fresh PCC , updated documents and to be notarised ,more time etc which has had a mega effect on our plans that we had . We first started our application over 2 years ago and still not at the MR stage yet.Hopefully we will be soon. So i dont think you should complain about this small matter as there is many on this forum who has had the same expense if not a lot more to pay out . Wishing you the best of luck with your application. :D
