Police clearance certificate

A police clearance certificate was submitted with my wife's application in which she's been accepted and granted PR. She was accepted in late June. I'm not sure how old the certificate she has is. She's coming in late March to Canada. Does she need a new certificate for her journey to Canada? Or is the police clearance certificate only for the application process? Also, does she need to carry for medical examination results?
