Hello all,
My parents just got their notice for medical from Canada immigration folks. Along with the medical they asked for police clearance certificate from:
1) Nigeria
2) Iraq
3) Iran
My dad worked in these countries in 70s and 80s when UK consulting companies were building infrastructures in those countries.
According to cic.gc.ca the way to request Police clearance certificate is :
Non-Resident Requests
Applicants should apply by courier to the Commissioner of Police at the address above, to the attention of Inspector Usman Mohammed (telephone: 08033696178). Applicants should provide a pre-paid return courier envelope, a copy of their passport and a set of fingerprints taken and certified by a recognized police authority or the Nigerian embassy or consulate, and an international money order payable to the Nigerian Police Force, CID. Police certificates may be certified at the nearest Nigerian embassy or consulate for a fee.
My questions are:
- was anybody successful in getting PCC through this process?
- if so, how much was the fee?
- how long did it take?
- is there a way to ask for extension of the 60 day deadline?
In regards to obtaining PCC from Iraq is probably almost impossible but we are trying to connect with the Iraq embassy in our country. Iranian embassy is actually helping get a PCC from them.
