Hi Guys,

I need your thoughts on my situation.

I applied for PR to the Federal Govt under the Ontario PNP program last year. The application was from within Canada. My application was received on November 12, 2014. Since I was waiting for the PCC for my wife from her home country, we decided to send in the application without it and submit it when requested. I got my AOR in April and paid my RPRF in June, 2015. In September 2015, I got an email from CIC to submit our PCC's and was told that I had to submit them by November 23, 2015. I sent them to CIC in September 2015 and have not heard anything back from CIC since the document request in September. In the meanwhile I am getting worried since my PCC from India was issued to me in November 2014 and would therefore be considered valid for 1 yr from the date of issue.

I was wondering if anyone has got any experience on whether CIC will consider the PCC's valid since when I mailed them to CIC they still had 2 months of validity left.

Also, does anyone know how long it generally takes CIC to decide applications after sending a document request.

Generally PCC is valid for 6 months.

Sometimes they ask for new PCC if required, but sometimes they wont. So if its more than 1 year of pcc issuance date then its better to apply and keep it ready to submit if they ask for it.
If the pcc is issued after you left that country then its valid till you make another visit hence if this is the case then its not required.

Mine completes it's one yr in March 2016, so I applied for a new one today.I was wondering if I should be sending them the PCC receipt to inform that I've applied and will be providing new one ???

Its needed only for the first time. For the second time we dont need to tell them and we can be ready if they ask.
