I applied to sponsor my wife living in India in March 2015. It was clearly mentioned on the CIC website when I applied that Police Clearance Certificate from the passport office is acceptable for those applicants living outside of Punjab (my wife lives in Chennai). So I got a PCC from the passport office and sent it along with the application (it was a breeze).
I received my approval to be a sponsor this month (May 2015). My wife also received an email from Delhi visa office saying that her application for PR has been received and requested a police clearance certificate (if not already sent). Now even though I already sent a police clearance certificate, I wanted to be doubly sure about this so I checked the CIC website again and now it says that only Delhi residents may apply for PCC via the passport office. For my case, I should apply at the local district police station. (I'm unable to post the website link here for some reason).
I'm not sure if I should re-send another police certificate from the police station. It's quite a hassle from what I hear. What should I do? Thanks so much in advance.
