Just want to update the forum community about my experience in obtaining PCC from Indian Embassy in Washington DC.

I personally gave the application along with my passport and $20. On the 9th working day after dropping the application, I went back to collect them. I received a single sheet certificate which is dated as if its prepared on the 8th working day after dropping the application. So the conclusion I can draw from this is, Indian Emabassy at DC is keeping up with the published processing time of 7-10 working days for PCC.

Even the Houston consulate was very prompt in issuing the PCC. I got mine in 9 days last year.

WOW, :o these are far better than Chicago consulate, I got my after 60 days, but that was last year(2009) don't know the timelines they take these day in Chicago.

Max

The key here is you have to go back in the 7-10 day timeline, there is no way to find status as they wont pick up the phone.

Overall we had the same experience last year, went in the 12th day and they had stamped it in the 8th or 9th day.

I have sent mine to NY Embassy last week. Not sure how many days they take. If anyone know, pl let me know the time line.

Did they take your original passport? I got my passport issued from them but not sure if they will issue PCC that quickly too... esp if they keep my passport as long as 60 days for some cases
Please advise

Thanks
