I am in the process of collecting all the required documents to apply for Express Entry PR through CEC.

My wife just recently joined me here in Canada and before travelling to Canada , she applied and got her PCC from India.

Now my doubt is, can i submit the same PCC for her when submitting the documents or do i need to apply a new PCC again here through BLS. Can you please let me know!

Appreciate your help! Thanks once again.

If this PCC was obtained just a few days before leaving India, then it is absolutely fine.

Hi sushsmart15
Thanks for your reply!
Yes the PCC was issued a couple of days before the travel. So this shouldn't be a problem right!

Thanks once again1

In general, you and all the people in your family who are 18 or older need to get a police certificate. You must get one from each country or territory where you have lived for six or more months in a row since the age of 18. The certificate must be issued no more than three months before you apply.

It does not matter where you apply it from , as long as it is from India and it is within last 6 months.

This is the old requirement. The current requirements are:

1) For your country of current residence - no older than 6 months.
2) For any other country that you lived in for more than 6 months (since the age of 18) - if it is issued after you left the country (meaning, terminated your residence), it is valid indefinitely.

Of course, no PCC is required from Canada for either 1 or 2 with your application (it could be requested later).

So the OP's question kind of falls in a grey zone. His wife is a current resident of Canada, so rule #2 applies to the Indian PCC. I tend to agree with sushsmart15, if it was just a few days before departing India, it's probably OK. If it is less than 6 months old at the time of application, no worries.

But personally, I would apply for a new one just to be safe.

Yes that would be a good idea. During your last week of stay in UAE, obtain the UAE PCC. It will be only around 100 to 200 AED. If you apply for it from India then be ready to shell out atleast 2000 AED. All the best.

It only depends on your current country of residence. If you are in UAE at the time of your ITA, then you will have to apply for the Visa through the Canadian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. Only if you are staying in India, then you can apply through the embassy in Delhi.
I hope this clarifies your doubt.
