Hello.
I am submitting my file for permanent residency soon for which I need PCC from my native country, India.
I could get it from BLS but it's too much of a hassle for me.
My parents can get it for me while I am in Canada from Sr. Supdt. of Police in Punjab much quicker and easier.
My question is, will CIC accept that PCC? I know some of my friends who got their PCC from India and got their files approved but some people form online community said they won't accept it. I'm really confused, please help.

Kindly apply via Embassy in your current country of residence . PCC from Indian Embassy OR PSK (Passport Seva Kendra) have the same format which is acceptable by IRCC.
PCC from local police offices are either time bound or geography bound - not accepted by IRCC.

PCC only from PSK (Passport Seva Kendra) or Indian Embassy is acceptable. PCC's from SR. Superintendent is never accepted and your eAPR will for sure get rejected!

Fully agree with what has already been mentioned above.

Apply via your embassy is the only option for you.

If an embassy already can find your previous police verification check in their system then they will issue a PCC for you in 7 days. If they cannot find a previous police verification check in their system then your application will be sent internally to India which could take around 30 days work around.

If you have god your passport issued/re-issued during last few years then there are good chances that your police verification details are available in the system. Police verification is on system even if you did not get your passport issued from that country.

So just relax and apply via an embassy which will be safest route. As a worst case scenario upload a payment receipt from embassy/VFS for application of PCC along with an explanation letter. In past various applicants have got an extension for PCC hopefully you will get it as well. Till then wait till the very last few days of your deadline in case you receive a PCC.

Good luck.
