Hello everyone,

I am having a confusion regarding filing up the PCC application for India...here is the link..http://www.blsindia-canada.com/forms/HCI-CGI_Police%20Clearance%20Certificate%20form.pdf
  • 10. address in india: which address should I fill in??(i mean present city where my parents r living now or the city I used to live when I was in india, because I have never visited/lived in the new city where my parents r living now)
  • 15. Name of sponsoring authority if any and plan scheme under which u came to Canada: what should I be filing in here?? becuase I came here on study permit and funding frm my professor..

  • 20. address where stayed. (question 20, what is the duration for which i have to fill out the form?? it doesn't mention anything.

the last question is do the police come to your house address to check ?? I mean what is the exact process after you apply and how much time will it take actually to get certificate?? do you have to submit ur passport and work/study permit to BLS office??

would really appreciate the replies to the post!!

Hi Shim,

10. Address in india: you would write what you have on your passport.
15. As you have come on study permit..you dont need to write anything here..
20. You write your addresses where you stayed in India with duration ( from which date/year to date/year)

You have to submit photocopy of ur work permit and original passport...
Check..there would be a checklist of documents what you have to submit...

they check their database..police do not go to your home...it usually takes 3-4 weeks to get your certificate...

Hi Gaurav_OT,

thank u very much for ur reply..dat helped a lot.

10. but the thing is my passport is new and was issued recently from toronto, so the address is also canadian.. i would appreciate ur response in this regard..

It says address in india..so you write where u last lived in india...

Is it necessary to go through BLS to obtain a police certificate if you are not in India ? It can be obtained from the authorities directly too..right ?

i m not sure abt this...but the high commission of india's/CGI Toronto website asks us to contact BLS regarding PCC.. :)

If the local authorities in India demand your presence then I believe you can contact BLS-India, if not, if it can be locally obtained from the Police Commissioner, thats fine too I believe. The letter does not indicate anything specifically. It only says that one has to produce a Police certificate.

i think all addresses...even before 18..but if you have lived lots of places before 18 then write the addresses after 18...

If the local authorities demand your presence, then apply through BLS-India, if you are able to get it from India then thats fine too.
