PCC can be within last 6 months only from current country of residence, for all others you need to get once you leave the country, now since you left India post PCC it is no more valid. You need to get the same again
Sorry, I didn't quite get it.

I live in UK(more than 6 months) and have an Indian passport.

Do I need to get PCC from UK police?

Do I need to get PCC from India police?

Hi,

I am Udai, I am currently in Canada. I got ITA on Dec 22nd 2016 under CEC. I came to Canada in Dec 2012 on student visa, since then I did not go back to India. Now, I have applied for my Police clearance certificate for India directly in my area commissioner office (i.e. in Chennai) through my sister. They accepted the application and I will get my PCC in another 10 days may be.

My question is: Should I necessarily get my PCC by applying though BSL international in Canada or is it ok that I directly get it from the commissioner office in India?

Could someone please clarify? Thank you very much.

- Udai
If you are in Canada then apply through BLS,
if you need it same days, go to Consulate General of India (CGI) Toronto office and you will get it same day

You need both from UK and India, my point was India PCC should be asked for post you left the country. Now since UK is your country of residence, it is valid as long it is issued within last 6 months. If you already have India PCC and you got it before you left India, the same is not valid anymore and you need to get it again.

I think you need to have PCC if you have ever stayed in a country for more than 6 consecutive months, it doesn't mean if you have left the country or not.

Like in my case, I have left India for now and I live in UK(I haven't left UK), I will have to get PCC from both India and UK and it will be valid for the next 6 months.

Does this sound ok?

If you dont believe me, feel free to look up on CIC website, providing an excerpt from there:

Police certificates
To immigrate to Canada, you and any family members 18 and older must include your police certificates as part of the application for permanent residence. You need one for every country, other than Canada, where you stayed for more than 6 months in a row.

If you need one from the country where you currently live, it must have been issued within the last 6 months.

If you need one from a country where you lived in the past, it must have been issued after you last lived in that country. If it has an expiry date and is now expired, include it. We will let you know if you need a new one.

Hello Everyone!
I just received my Police Clearance Certificate and it mentions that "...this certificate will not render me ineligible for the grant of travel facilities including visa for Canada"
Will this certificate work for Express Entry application for permanent residence?
