it is accepted by CIC there are many applicants who got PR. it is not time bound it is place bound because it mention address. Dont say it is not accepted, that is misguiding.

Do you remember the rejections in 2015 because of PCC???
And then people had to resubmit their applications after getting a new PCC from PSK......

thats is not because PVC is no valid. it is because they stayed in diff places in one country and so they need PVC from all police stations. Show me one example which says this PVC is not valid.

Search the forum and you can find a few cases. It is IRCC who has issues, so kindly ask them.

This is regarding getting PCC from India

My passport and my spouse passport doesnt have our names in Spouse column in passport. Does this have any effect in getting PCC?

I read in some forums that they ask to get the name updated in passport(time taking process) to issue PCC. Also saw some suggestions to apply PCC seperately as Unmarried as PCC doesnt have column about martial status.

if so, whats the procedure for applying for a police clearance certificate from a PSK at Mumbai? Can I directly go to the PSK in Mumbai with my passport and get the certificate on the same day itself?

You have to fill a form online and pay 500 rupees. Post which they will provide with next available date. You have to upload proof of address. And then take self attested copy along with original at the time of your appointment.

I guess you receive it on the same day in an hour. - I have heard this. I'll update my experience soon.

thanks for the reply Niki. however I was just checking the CIC site and it states that for people belonging to states other than Punjab and Delhi, PCC is to be obtained from local police station. Can we still get it from PSK ? Heres the CIC link -

I checked the requirements of Indian Passport Seva Kendra for PCC at the below link. It mentions that we also need to show documentary proof that we are applying for a residential status elsewhere. Is it true? If yes, what document can we show ?

Good. Because the format in which PSK provides PCC is the one accepted by IRCC.
Just post it on this forum the no. of days it took you to get the PCC from PSK, once you get it.

Hey, why wouldn't the Delhi Police format work ?
As per CIC website:
For residents of Delhi: You can apply at your local District Police Station or online on the Delhi Police website or on the Passport India website. The Web site will list what information and documents you need. If you apply online, your certificate will be returned to you electronically.

Sometimes, they do ask, you can show ITA letter in this regard.
