Police Clearance certificate and fingerprint

Hi Everyone,

could someone let me know if fingerprint check is required for police clearance from Australia? I am not a australian resident and I dont live there now but i used to and need to get the certificate from AFP. CIC website doesnt mention anything about fingerprint. Please help as I dont want to make any mistake.

Thanks for the reply. but this is for Australian immigration and I also know how to get the police clearance. my question was if fingerprint check is required for the Canadian FSWP or just a name check.
