Sigh indeed.

Guys, why are so many people not even reading the basic guidance provided by CIC? If you are going to put in an application, the least you should be doing is reading the basic information provided by CIC... It will help you !

True...
And try to put yourself in VO's shoes... No wonder CIC set up so many walls between applicants and officers...Filtration does matter...

Another question in regards to the UK police check. I am in the process of filling out the paperwork....this is my situation.

I am Australian but lived in London for just under two years. At this time I had both an Australian and British passport (my Dad is British). My British passport has since expired (as of last month) so I am not mentioning this on the Generic Application form.

My question is, on the UK police check form do I just mention my current passport which is Australian?

Any advice would be great :)

Thanks

sorry if my above question is silly or doesn't make sense but is anyone able to offer any advice?

Thanks

Anyone out there??? Thanks :)

"If you need help with your application, please call the ACPO Criminal Records Office on 0845 6013 999 (between 08:30 and 16:30) Monday to Friday or e–mail acro.policecertificates@acro.pnn.police.uk."

Personally, I think it would be very suspicious to hide your UK passport, just because it expired.

I'm not planning on hiding my UK passport, I had already emailed ACRO and they responded with the following -

"If the Canadian authorities require you to produce details of your expired English passport on your Certificate we are able to do so this would show on your certificate as expired. You would not be required to present your English passport to us in order for us to produce a Police Certificate we will only require a copy of a valid passport to do this. Please confirm with the Canadian authorities regarding their requirements".

Would it best to add in my application to CIC a cover letter stating that I used to have a British passport but this has since expired and I am not renewing???

Thanks

I think it wouldn't hurt. CIC doesn't ask if you hold more than one passport, so it may not matter either way, but if it will appear on your UK police certificate, I personally would probably do it.
