Hi, am applying for spousal sponsorship for hubby...im canadian, he is hungarian and currently living in dublin ireland we are applying outbound, home office being london uk. are the police certificates only good for 3 months? bit worried as they were done back in feb but because we had to wait for new passport, it delayed the time to send out application forms. its now nearly mid april and am wondering if the 3 months is counted from when they recieve the application in mississauga ontario or london uk...can anyone give advice please?

It's counted from when the file arrives in Mississauga. And yes - it's three months.

ok great, thanks for that! ive sent it registered post and they said it should take 5 days approx...do you know if they open forms soon as they arrive or if there is a massive stock pile of forms that need to be sifted through? wondering if we should get another police certificate sent again to mississauga just to save any delay on time...

hi to all..i got my police clearance last feb. of this year and we sent our application last month march. only 90 days the expiration. do i have to send another one when it expires? thank u.. god bless us all

you should be ok! another member from the forum explained to me that it must be within 3 months that you submit your application, not that it expires in 3 months...phew! i was thinking the same thing so we can both breathe a sigh of relief! hope this helps

the date on the sheet of the police clearence is the start date ...the expire date is 3 months after .....jan,20,12 to march,20,12....as long as your application is delivered to the immagration office by march,20,12 you will be ok

Fingers crossed the process is quick! but according to some other threads, the current waiting time for spousal sponsorship 1st stage approval is 84 days...good luck to everyone ;D
