I'm a Canadian citizen sponsoring my Korean wife for a family class PR visa.

We are a few days away from sending our whole application to Mississauga.

We have two police certificates coming from Australia for her since she lived there. (one traffic check + a federal police check)

My question: Should we open the envelope sent from the Australian Federal Police department? OR should we simply include UNOPENED mail from the Australian Federal Police with our application to show it's authenticity.

Thanks

Police Certificates are not required to be included in a sealed envelope. Hence, unless the document checklist states otherwise, you can open the envelope and just include the certificates.

we got our police checks in person with no envelope; also many ppl even if they get it in an envelope they would have to open it and probably translate it if needed :) so i think no having them sealed is not required

I would open it..as someone posted, you don't have to send them in sealed. We got my husband's first FBI report back and I'm thankful we looked at it because there were errors on it. If we hadn't of looked at it, we'd be in a pickle right now. We had time to correct the information and be sent a corrected one.

Plus, since it's addressed to you, no one else can legally open it.. it would be wise to open it and just include the document :)
