Police Certificate

My Canadian husband is sponsoring me for PR. We are applying Outland. I’ve researched police certificate and am getting confused. I’m a US resident living in Texas. Some info says the Texas department of public safety is where I go, other info says it comes from FBI, and others say contact my local police department? I’m confused….can Any other US applicants share where they received theirs from? How long did it take? Thanks!

Here is the link for FBI clearance/police certificate. https://www.fbi.gov/how-we-can-help-you/more-fbi-services-and-information/identity-history-summary-checks , you have to go to your local police department to get a fingerprint card done and mail it in along with confirmation after you create an account on this website. Yes it’s the same thing, I’m from the US as well(Boston ma) that’s all u need to do

Police certificate is a generic term. The specific document required is different for each country. IRCC has the details for each country on their website.
