Police Certificate

Hi, can anyone tell me how recently issued the Police Certificate needs to be? I got one issued last May in anticipation of making my application then but I had to hold off. Now I'm wondering if I need to get a new certificate issued? Any advice?

yes u do, a police certificate usually expires after 6 months of the issue

Its actually valid for 12 months for the sponsorship, not 6 months. Its stated in the guide for sponsorship too, under 'gather your documents' and then 'police certificates' it says: "Police certificates are generally valid for 1 year from the date they’re issued. Depending on processing times, we may ask you for new certificates."
