Police Certificate

Good Day Everyone,

I am being sponsored by my wife for PR. My wife has just been approved as eligible as a sponsor.
I as the PA have also received an email from CIC however requesting additional Police Certificate:

"This refers to your application for permanent residence under the Family Class. In order for us to continue processing your application, please submit the following document(s):


Police Certificate: From each country/state where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original police clearance certificate.

Please submit a police certificate from ENGLAND"

I have only lived in my home country and have stated one residence address on my application forms. However under education , I have attained my Masters from the UK , through a local educational institution that partners with UK universities. Everything is done in my home country but the degree is awarded from the UK university. So in education history it lists England as the country. I am guessing this is why they have requested a Police Certificate from England as they assumed I have been there for over six months duration.

Can someone please advise me what is the best way forward with this.
Should I submit a CSE explaining as above? Should I try and get documents from the local institution to verify this before I send the CSE or submit the CSE first?

Yes, this is what has triggered this request.

You should have listed your home country as the location where you obtained your education (not England). I would submit the CSE to explain this but also submit the corrected form removing England as the location where you obtained your education and correcting this to your home country. Try to obtain something from the local institution if possible - but I wouldn't wait for this information to submit.

thank you . how I do I go about submitting the LoE? I have linked my application to online GC account but there is no option allowing me to submit additional documents or change.

Do I submit it via CSE ? Can you please advise what is the best way to do this ? Thank you

okay thanks . It says by using the CSE to submit the Police Certificate or by courier mail . I will write a CSE explaining the situation .

hi all. Is there a number to actually speak to an agent concerning application ? I have tired the CIC contact number but does not lead to anything. I have submitted the CSE since Feb 19th but have not received a response as yet - I am assuming they are behind timelines hence delayed responses but was just wondering what else I can do besides wait

Hi m, is there any update on you application? IRCC also requested me a police clearance from Japan but I have just stay there for 4 months for family visit and I didn’t stay for more than 6 months, what is CSE by the way? I’ll write a letter also and explain.
