It was valid when you submitted your application if it was issued after the last time you traveled to that country. If CIC wants a new one they will request it as you provided all necessary docs when you applied.

Thank you very much! Now I'm three days to the 6 months line. I'm really worried what could go wrong, could it be that I'm in Japan and not in my home country? Because they might doing the security check at this stage.
Do police come to the address for verification? I have recently renewed my passport in July however, in my passport the address is different from my current address (I now live in a rented apart from Feb) I have my rent agreement from Feb will this cause an issue? Also, do police visit home to give the clearance certificate?
Also, for my wife present address is a rented house however, she has no proof since the agreement is under my name. So should I just keep my wife's address as same as the passport one? If police comes for verification then she won't be there,

In my opinion, police certificate normally won't need address confirmation. Police will do checking based on your name and fingerprint.
