Hello

I have just received the following email from Mississauga stating:

Police Certificate: In order to continue processing your application, a police certificate is required
from (my home country) in which you have spent the majority of your adult life (since the age of 18) other than Canada.

I moved to Canada when I was 19 and I've been in Canada for many years now. I don't understand why would they request such a thing after stating clearly on my application my years in Canada.

So you have already sent in the Police Certificate from your home country?
Because other than Canada, the country that you've spent majority of your time as an adult (since age of 18) is your home country.

No I did not. I've spent the majority of my adult time in Canada.

That's not what it asks:

The majority (indeed all) of your adult life outside Canada was in your home country.

At any rate, they've asked you for it, you're going to need to get it.

time spent in countries

Canada > home country > visiting other countries

Your home country is where you spent the majority of your adult life OTHER than Canada.

You need to provide the PCC for your home country.

OK. Giving you a real example. My husband started to study in Canada during highschool (before he turned 18), he spent may be 1 extended summer in his home country for summer vacation. (~just over 6 months)
He did submit Police Certificate from his home country. (and it was requested)

Sounds good, just wanted to clarify this. Thanks guys, I already requested it! I'm guessing this request will further delay my application, right?

Yes, it will a bit since the PCC wasn't provided by you as a required document earlier and had to be requested.
