Hello,
I would like to ask you a question, when you got your PPR, did the letter mention something regarding your passport (how long it should be valid)? I am waiting for the PPR but my passport will expire in 3 months and I wonder if I should renew it.

Thanks a lot
1 month for me.

I had to get fingerprints taken in Los Angeles to send to the Canadian Embassy in Mexico for the Police Certificate. Los Angeles police stations do not help private citizens with fingerprinting - instead they say to find a third party fingerprinting service (like through phonebook/online). We did this, but are concerned it's not a police agency like the instructions say. Anyone have luck with this?

I think is OK, my fingerprints were taken by third party (no for the police since Canadian police dont do it) and I the Mex authorities were OK with that and got the PCC.

Good luck!

Hi, guys!

I'm a little bit clueless about all this process and I'll really appreciate some help, so far this is my timeline:

Submitted documents to CIC - Sept 11th
Docs sent to Mexico - Sept 9th
Docs received Mexico - Sept 22th

On September 19th I've received a message from CIC telling me that I have 60 days to finish my application, I feel like the time is not on my side, since the delivery it wasn't quite express(even though I paid for that...) and as well the terrible earthquake.

My question here is, how I can contact CIC for having an extension? so far I still need to contact IRCC Visa Office in Mexico City. to know where are my documents, but after doing that is where I'm lost.

Any help I will be awesome.
Thanks :)
Hi Kuroko! My timeline is similar to yours, have you got any updates on your PCC application?

Hi all,
Just wondering if someone from here is under CEC Inland applying with a partner? it has been really long waiting for me :( I got confirmation that my PCC was sent on July 21st and they asked me to renew my passport which I sent the new ones to them on Aug 17th, but nothing since then :( I am just wondering if it takes longer for couples? thanks

@AC87: I don't know if it takes longer for couples, but it sure does seem that way. I am in a similar situation (docs sent to PGR on Aug 25th). Does anyone know how to contact PGR and what info they need?

@Coco7: Congrats! Did you email MXICO-IM-RAU@international.gc.ca to get an update? I sent them an email, but they just replied back with the same text (takes 30-60 days, PCC will be sent directly to IRCC and so on).
That means that your PCC is not ready yet, hopefully you will get it soon. I wrote to them 3 times and the fist two I got hat same message, the 3rd time I was told that my PCC had been sent to the IRCC offices on October the 24th.

That's great! And the only way you know those dates are from emailing them weekly? We're somewhat nervous b/c the email says to keep communication to a minimum haha..

on a period of 8 weeks I emailed them 3 times and that's how I got my timeline info. I was also nervious because they ask you to keep communication to a minimum . but due to what happened with the earthquake in Mexico City I felt like it was necessary for me to know if my PCC was gonna be ready on time or not.

@AC87 @Coco7 : Quick question.. Even though PGR sends the PCC directly to IRCC, I can see a placeholder in my Submitted Application called "Replacement Needed : Police certificate (required)"
Do we need to upload a letter of explanation in there?
