Just got hold of an agent, after hrs of trying and being on hold and all he says is, if you have already included the original police certificate in the application then ignore the email, The officer overlooked it

I would for sure NOT ignore it. At least reply (CSE), referencing the request email and politely state that you already included "original" (not copies) police certificates for all required countries with your initial application. Mention that a CIC (IRCC?) call centre agent instructed you to let them know this. Also, say that you would be happy to provide them with anything else they deem necessary.

Something like that. Actually, the call agent should have send a note to the agent working on your file stating all those details.

If you just ignore it, there is a chance that the officer will go to look at your file to see if you responded to their request for documents, and see that you never responded, then just refuse and reject your application.

That's my suggestion at least. Hope it helps!

Thank you sawadee eh, we have the same thoughts , I definitely won't ignore any communication from cic. In fact I send a case specific enquiry , was trying to attach a copy of police clearance I submitted but somehow I could not attach it so I just send an enquiry, I requested the call centre agent if he could send the note to the officer who is Incharge of my application and all he said was - I am sorry , we don't do that here !! So bizzare :'( , he seems least interested or probably he didn't like it when I suggested what he should or might have done as his job. So I thanked him and tried calling again to talk to another agent but never succeeded in getting through the high volumes of call. So al I can do now is wait for the case specific enquiry reply !! Hoping for the best !!

Yeah, the letter I received said "As per our records, you have not submitted the required police certificates from the country(ies) listed below:".

I finally got through to a call center agent and she specifically asked if the letter mentioned needing an update, and when I said no, she said to send them a photocopy of the one I submitted and then ask them to contact me if there was still a problem -so here's hoping there isn't!

Thanks to everyone for their help!
I submitted our application without a police certificate from China, which is where my wife lived for three years. We instead included a note saying we were still trying to track down the police certificate and would send it to them when we got it.

When it finally arrived, I wrote them and asked them how they wanted me to send it to them. They said they would accept a digital photocopy. So I emailed that to them and I got Decision Made last week.

The bottom line is that they ask for original PCs, but when push comes to shove, they're able to accept a copy. I would write them and say you're sending a copy because CIC lost the original. :)
