Police certificate from US in Canada

Hi - In the citizenship application, it asks for a police certificate, if you have stayed more than 183 days outside Canada in the last 4 years.

I did stay in USA for more than 183 days, so, i presume, i need to submit police certificate.

Questions

1. Can i resubmit the same police certificate copy that i submitted earlier for my first PR card?
2. How can i get police certificate from US in Canada? Any thoughts/anyone recently got this?
3. Can i submit citizenship application without police certificate and then submit it, when asked? I am not sure, if this is acceptable(so, i don't miss out the days, apply, then wait for this, once get it, then send it across).

Hi, I am not a professional so please do your research before making any decision but based upon my understanding here are the answers to your questions-

1. As per this guide (Question 10)- https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-0002-application-canadian-citizenship-under-subsection-5-1-adults-18-years-older.html

To be valid, the police certificate must be either issued

• after the last time you were in that country, or
• no more than 6 months before the date you sign your citizenship application

So if your police certificate is not valid as per this criteria, then you need to apply for a new one.

2. You can submit an electronic request at https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks and then mail your finger prints as per the instructions given on the website (this is faster than paper application). You can get your fingerprints from a local fingerprinting agency. Just make sure to check with them that they will be able to take your fingerprints for FBI police certificate.

3. I don't think so, I think it is better if you submit it with your application plus with electronic request the turnaround time for the police certificate is 3 to 5 business days upon receipt of the fingerprint card.
