Hi, I get a police certificate from countries other than the country I am living now a while ago. So it is a year old but issued few years after I left that country and I have never went back. Is it ok? or should it also be 6 month old from issuance?

I think if you obtained PCC after leaving a country and never went back, it should be valid forever. Whereas for the country you are applying from, the PCC should not be more than three months old when you apply.

According to IRCC, you need to get the Police certificate within the last 6 months of your PR application submission.
I think that is for countries you are already living in (in my case USA) for countries you left and never went back I guess you can get a certificate after you left the country and it never expires. I read it somewhere but can't find it now. That's why I need to verification.

Incorrect. It's no more than 6 months.
