Police certificate for sponsor?

Does a sponsor who has lived abroad for more than six months need a police certificate to prove he/she hasn't been convicted of anything?

Only for the applicant...
if your sponsor has a criminal conviction..that would be another thing..that I cannot tell you much.

The sponsor is a born citizen but spent about a year in Sweden. I just wondered if the CIC would need proof that she didn't commit any crimes while in Sweden since that might make her ineligible to sponsor...

I have my police certificates, but the question was about whether my g/f would need Swedish police certificates since she's spent almost a year there. That doesn't seem to be the case though.

Any Swedish specific advice for applying for residency?
