Hi Friends,

I am recently moved to USA. I wanted the Police clearance and certificates for Canada since I was in Canada before for more than 6 months.
The RCMP website mentions about the finger printing my mail option.
Is that everything that I need to do for Canada PCC or do I also need some letter from the Canadian embassy?

One of the finger printing website mentions as below
step 2 : Get your fingerprints taken on paper by your local police (or official agency)
where can I find such an agency in Washington DC? has anyone done this in USA?

Thanks in advance.

cic website says that police clearance certificate for Canada is not needed until the visa office asks for one. check this link:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/canada.asp

"If you live outside of Canada:

The Canadian visa office will tell you if you need a Canadian criminal record check while your application is being processed. If the visa office asks you to complete a criminal record check, visit the RCMP website for instructions. "

I advise you to wait until cic asks for one.

From the same website "You may contact accredited companies within Canada who will digitize ink fingerprints and submit them electronically to the RCMP. "

You will find many agencies that let you get fingerprinted. Many law enforcement offices provide such service, if not, they will at least be in a position to direct you to the right agency. But before that, I suggest that you check with the "accredited company" if they have a preferred agency in US. Because you have to get your paper fingerprints digitized in order to send it out to rcmp. Hope this helps.
