We are asked to to submit the federal immigration application to CIO-Sydney (after having received the PNP nomination).
I am an Indian citizen working in US for past few years. I have following questions w.r.t. police certificates and clearances (PCC) from India.
1. How long does it take to get PCC from Indian Consulate in SFO?
2. Do we have to submit the original passport to them? I am a little wary about it
3. Do we wait to get the PCC from Indian consulate before submitting the federal application to CIO-Sydney?

Please help me.

Yes you have to submit passport original. Within Max 6 weeks SFO Indian consulate issue PCC by mail. Website changed last time I seen mentioned 30days but now they remove from application processing timeline. Best Luck

Thanks everyone.
We submitted the application for PCC at Indian consulate at SFO. Few things to note:
1. They don't allow you to carry bags inside and provide lockers (free of charge)
2. There is an office max right near to the Indian Consulate (on Geary avenue) - photocopy and other small things can be taken care of quickly. In our case, we were missing photocopies of previous passports, so we got it done there.
3. They have the option to (a). take back the passport, and then they will call when the PCC is ready, you come in morning, deposit the passport, then come back in evening to take passport along with PCC (b). submit the passport and they call you when PCC is ready for pickup (c). they had fedex envelope where they shall courier the PCC and passport back to you.
We choose (c) since the drive to SFO wasn't easy.
4. We were told that if the passport is issues from SFO, then it is faster to get PCC (possibly, within two week) - they have some database to check against.

Will update when I get back the passport. I am hoping that it comes within two weeks.

I need to apply for India PCC from SFO consulate. I have the following questions:-

1. Do the photocopies of US Address/ID proof need to be coloured or can they be B/W as well.
2. I plan to send both mine and spouse's application in one package. Do I need to include 1 return envelope or 2
3. Which among USPS or Fedex is better for sending docs from Seattle(where i live)

Esteemed members please advise.
