We're finally back in the game. Finally got the additional document I needed today, so this evening sent it in to the VO with the scanned passport pages . . .

So we'll see how quickly things go! Almost done . . .

Ahh, nice to see another recent Warsaw applicant. Honestly ours would have been a little faster I think but I dragged my heels getting a document together that the office requested. Otherwise our timelines look very similar. I'll certainly post to this thread next time I hear back from them. We're expecting something any day now . . . I say that every week!

Feel free to come join us over in the 'November Applicants Thread.' http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/november-2012-applicants-unite-t123516.0.html

If you post your timeline there, Ms Malawi will add you to the spreadsheet so we can compare, and basically be envious of each other when things move along . . .

[edit] We also got the request for passport pages and proof of my employment in Canada on Jan 24, which we sent them by email on Feb 12. So theoretically we could be about a week ahead of you. Not that anything happens in order . . .

All the rest of our timeline info is on the left under my username.

Good luck!

I did post my timeline there, thanks for the link. Hopefully this week you will hear good news!! They do send information about the decision by email as well right? Not only by regular mail?

We do expect our next communication from the VO to be by email, yes. All of our communications so far have been by email. The acknowledgement letter and sponsorship approval both came to my email, and the passport scan request came to my wife's email. I make it a pretty regular habit to check my spam folder, just in case.

Sun in Warsaw - I think it's going to be a good week!

Yes, the decision made is sent in an email. That is how my wife got hers in January from Poland. I noticed that all communication from Warsaw always came on Thursday's, so maybe this Thursday will be a lucky day for you. :)

Thanks for that - I knew that about Thursdays but had forgotten about it. That will make tomorrow a little easier - no email checking tomorrow!

I have a feeling it will be very soon. With this change in the weather here in W-wa, it feels like change is in the air.

[edit] Checking my records, all of our communications from the VO were on Thursdays as well. Fingers crossed for this week!

Thank you! Do you remember how long did you have to wait from the time your wife sent the passport to the time you received the approval email?
You're right I think that they actually update the site every Thursday so Grzybek don't forget to check it for "decision made" status :))

Hello Warsaw group,

My partner and I are applying for my sponsorship via Warsaw; we got the sponsorship approved and we received an AOR from Warsaw in mid-March. I was wondering, does Warsaw send another email after the AOR, confirming that they started processing the application?
From the timelines here I can see that the whole process in Warsaw takes 2-3 months so hopefully it will go that fast for us also!

Many thanks in advance,
dzuls

In our case, about a month after we got our AOR from the Warsaw office, we got another email asking for us to send a scan of my wife's passport.

About a week after that, our ecas info changed to indicate that they have 'started processing our application.'

I don't put any weight on anything ecas says, but it's interesting to see the progress anyway. Fingers crossed we'll hear from the visa office tomorrow.

Hello everyone,

We have just received an email as well requesting our passport, marriage certificate and RPRF! We had send our application outland to Warsaw and was received November 27th, 2012. At this time our Marriage certificate was still being processed so we sent a letter stating that if they needed it we would send it at their request.

I have a few questions if anyone could shed some light:

1. Do you think it would be sufficient to scan and email the marriage certificate along with the passport pages or do I need a notorized copy sent by mail?

2. I need to send the a physical print out of the receipt to the Mississauga office, correct? That is it? Warsaw can then see that this processing fee has been paid?

and 3, I assume because they are now requesting our passport, an interview has been waived?

It was such great news to see this email this morning and we are so thrilled at how fast the Warsaw office is processing.

That is fantastic news!! ;)
1 In our case we got married in Warsaw so first we went to translate the certificate and later on we had the paper notarized.

2 Yes, you need to send the receipt to Mississauga. They gave you the exact address in email. On the envelope write:
CPC-Mississauga (Permanent Residence Fee Payment), P.O. Box 6100, Station A.

3 I was checking that on the Inetrnet. I didn't find anyone who was asked for passport and then for an interview. Hopefully, this stage is waived:)
I wish you good luck!

I didn't want to pipe up with an answer because I have no experience with these issues, but I think Mal89's advice sounds pretty sound. I don't know if your certificate is the Polish one or from some other country - remember that if you are submitting the Polish one it needs to be the full, two sided version. I guess my advice depends if you are in Poland or Canada right now. The consular services desk at the embassy can certify documents for a small fee. If I were mailing any documents (including the payment receipt), I would also send a scan to the visa office - there's a change this could speed things up, but I'm not sure.

I agree with your feeling that if you've been asked for your passport copy already, that an interview has probably been waived, but I guess anything could happen. My feeling is that the VO would rather not interview you if they don't have to.

Thanks for the responses.

We were married in Canada and now have our marriage certificate from Ontario and we both are currently residing in Ontario. It would just be much quicker to scan and email it along with the passport. I emailed Warsaw to see if a scan of the MC would suffice and hopefully, if this is the case, we can get all the documents out tomorrow. I just was wondering if anyone had any experience with this because I would hate to email it and wait only to find out we needed a notarized copy by mail.

As for the interview, we are not worried. I don't know why I asked about that :p

Considering the VO's less than blindingly rapid email response pattern, I would email everything, as well as notify them you're sending documents by registered mail. That way your timeline won't be set back, regardless of their requirements.

No, we're not worried about an interview either. We have some pretty funny memories from how rigorous our interview was in Poland for my temporary residency here. Every question in the book, including where we keep the coffee, cat food, etc. I think conducting these interviews must be a pretty revelatory experience!
