Points for education

Hello all, A newbie here.

I am not sure about the points for education and my age.

Education:
I hold a Bachelors Degree of four years from one of the Chinese top universities in computer. I think I should fall under the following category as mentioned on CIC website. Am I correct? I am not allowed to post the link. Please help.

"Canadian post-secondary degree or diploma for a program of three years or longer, or equalNote de bas de page 1 21 points".

Points for Age: My DOB is 1976 August, So, I am 37 years 8 months. Do I get the point for 38 or 39?

Your help is much appreciated.

for education:
have your foreign education assessed by an agency approved by CIC to show it is valid and equal to a completed Canadian credential
for your degree you may get 19 or 21 points depending on the school you graduated.'

for age:
You will get points based on your age on the day when the Centralized Intake Office gets your application

so if they process your application before your 38th birthday, you'll get points for 37 which is 10 points

In that case I will have only 3 more months left to claim the 10 points. Any experience on how long does the assessment take? I plan to do with WES.

WES credential Assessment, doesn't take that long,but you have to hurry up.
do your IELTS too, if you still don't a score card.

Thanks hope. How long does it take my application to be accepted by the the intake office? I need to take every action efficiently so that I can claim the points for my age.

in order to claim the maximum points on your age, the file should reach them before your next birthday !!!

Thanks mr. Hope. I think sending the files to them by express mail should not take more than a week from Shanghai to Canada intake office. If my files rech them before my next birthday but some how my file goes in the queuq and might get processed after some time and goes beyond my next b'day. Do still get the points for 37?

Yes, so long as the application arrives before your birthday.
