Please, I need your advice here, am due to travel to Canada on a student visa with my spouse and my child as my dependent. My school is in Newfoundland, but I intend flying to Toronto to spend few weeks before going to Newfoundland. Hope this will not pose any issue for us at the point of entry with the immigration officer, as the immigration staff can ask why flying to Toronto and not Newfoundland?

Your sincere advise and contributions will be appreciated.

There is no problem and u have study permit for Canada not for Newfoundland so u can land in any province if the officer ask u the reason just say u r here to just meet ur friend and then u ll go there with him etc reason.
Or say ur flight charges r cheap to toronto frm ur place then to newfoundland
or say the truth u want to stay in toronto for a couple of days and then ull go to newfoundland and also say that ur school open day for u is few days later so u r spending time here in toronto.
