Depending on what your CRS is and when you are expecting to get an ITA either take the risk and submit such gift deed that provides no proof of where that cash came from or wait 6 months so there is no indication in your bank statements that you received such amount in cash form.

You haven't stated why you decided to take the amount via cash so I am unable to provide any other potential solutions.
Thanks for the reply. I already got the ITA. The cash I got from my father since he had that amount in cash at home. It was in September and the remaining amount I got from his account through a cheque. Do I need to provide proof about how they got the money too?
BTW, this amount from my father is about 50% of the POF requirement and I have the other 50% POF funds from my savings (salary).

You don't have to provide proof on how they got the money, you simply have to provide proof on how you got the money.

The above is easy when receiving a bank transfer, cheque, bank draft, etc. As you received the money in cash you have to decide on how you'd like to proceed.

That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. I will see what I can do about that.
