The document checklist states:
If you are applying for permanent residence in Canada, you must provide an official letter issued by your financial institution indicating your financial profile. This must:

list of all your bank (chequing and savings) and investment accounts, the account numbers, dates each account was opened and the balance of each account over the past six months,
list all outstanding debts, such as credit cards and loans,
be printed on the letterhead of the financial institution, and include your name and the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and e-mail address).

All the maintenance funds in the UK are in my wife's name and the equivalent of those funds are in my name in my bank account in India. I have been living in the UK for the last 7 years, do I need to provide financial profile in the UK?

I was thinking of uploading the bank's letter from my account in India, my wife's account in the UK and a no objection letter from my wife stating that the funds are for settlement in Canada. Is this sufficient?

The whole point of POF is to tell CIC that you have enough funds which you do. You are anyways showing your spouse's UK account and your Indian bank accounts.
PS: POF doesnt mean you need to show all the bank accounts on this earth

Hello, I have 2 questions:
1) I am the primary applicant and my spouse will accompany me as my dependent. I succeeded to take a bank letter stating all the information IRCC wants. Do I still have to provide bank statement or bank letter will suffice?
AND
2) My fund comprises funds from my spouse as well. I took a statutory declaration from my spouse and I will provide LOE as well stating from where the fund came from. Do I have to provide bank letter (stating account name, number, open date, average 6 month fund etc) and bank statement for my spouse as well? Thanks

Hi Guys,
Really stuck up with my application for EE at the moment. :( I have arranged all my documents except for POF fund. My father ll gift me 15500$ as gift deed. but the problem is, i only have a NRi aacount in India to which u cant receive money from india. So i opened a NRO account which permits me to receive money from abroad and from india. This account is only one week old. Can that be a reason for rejection, if i Make a gift deed from my father to NRO account which is just one week old? Seniors pls help..

thanks in advance

Shouldn't be a problem as long as you provide documentation (Gift Deed, etc.) showing where the money in this account came from, and that it's legitimately yours. If you're very concerned, you can write an LOE explaining that you had to open the account in order to receive the Gift from your father because your existing account couldn't accommodate the transfer of the Gift.

It shouldn't be a problem. Get the gift deed and write a LOE stating from where the money came from and also include the account name, date of transaction, transaction number and mode of transfer etc.

Hi Guys,

I was preparing my Letter of explanation and just wanted to know if the letter given below is sufficient :

MY NAME

Express Entry profile : EXXXXXXXX

19/10/2017

Sharjah, UAE

The Visa Officer,

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

Government Of Canada

Sir,

Sub : Letter of Explanation on Proof of Fund

As per the requirements of IRCC, I have a cash balance of amount 17,248 CAD in my Savings Bank Account Number : XXXXXXX with XXXXXX bank, since 19-Oct-2017. These funds are fully free of any liens, debts or encumbrances and are available for immediate transfer as a means of settlement funds to Canada.

My father, fATHERS NAME resident of FATHERS ADDRESS, gifted me Rs.9,00,000/- (equivalent to CAD 17,248/-) through Cheque No.XXXXXX, dated on 19-Oct-2017, drawn on Bank XXXXXX, to my account. This gift was made out of his personal savings held in his savings account, A/c No : XXXXXX with XXXXXXXX and it was transfered to my account on 19-Oct-2017. My Father made the gift purely out of his love and affection towards me. He doesnt expect this money to be paid back since he considers this as my family share and i am entitled to use the fund as per my wish. To substantiate this I have atatched a Gift Deed and personnel affidavit from my father along with my Bank Letter.

Since, I am a Non-Resident Indian, and was not holding any other savings account in India to which my father could make the gift deed transfer within India, I opened a new savings account (A/c no : XXXXXXX) with XXXXXXXXX on 12-Oct-2017.

Furthermore, I also hold a salary current account (A/c No : XXXXXXXX) with Emirates NBD, Sharjah City Centre Branch, UAE. This account was opened for the purpose of salary transfer and has been active since dd-mm-yyyy. Emirates NBD doesnt issue the detials requested by IRCC in one single bank letter. Hence i have arranged three different letters from the bank to substantiate the details required by IRCC.

I would be greatly thankful, if my above said explanation is considered while my application undergoes background check.

Yours Thankfully,

MY NAME

Hi guys, quick question about POF - Gift Deed.
I got some amount through a cheque from my parent's account and a little higher amount as a cash which I deposited into my account - problem is it was not from any account of my parent.
Is this going to be a problem? If so, any possible solutions?

In the gift deed, I am mentioning that some amount received in the form of cheque deposited and some in the form of cash deposited on a particular date.
Thank you!

Depending on what your CRS is and when you are expecting to get an ITA either take the risk and submit such gift deed that provides no proof of where that cash came from or wait 6 months so there is no indication in your bank statements that you received such amount in cash form.

You haven't stated why you decided to take the amount via cash so I am unable to provide any other potential solutions.

Dear Del Piero, (Sincere apologies to bother you on this thread but needed a help)

I need to confirm this before submitting my application, and I need your help. I would be very grateful if you can help me out with this query. My query is -:

  • In express entry profile under “Education History” shall I mention the 16 months diploma that I am currently pursuing? I have completed 9 months of that diploma and I won’t be eligible for any points for that. So shall I mention the same as “Current Study” or not? I am confused because it can result in two different scenarios.

Scenario I: If I mention this under “Education History” as my “Current Study”, then CIC officer may ask me for WES document post ITA and this c an create some confusion. I have heard many members on this forum advising to mention only those things in “Education History” for which we are claiming points and have completed WES.

Scenario II: If I do not mention this under “Education History” then I hope CIC officer does not think of this as a misrepresentation as I have to mention the same under “Personal History” post ITA.

Please advise me what course I shall follow.
Thanks a lot for your assistance.

You only have to mention it in the personal history section. This is not misrepresentation, simply there is no need to state it in the education history as you are not claming points for it, you haven't finished the program AND you obviously don't have an ECA for such diploma.
