Hello people,

I am submitting my post-ITA documents and wanted to ask something. My wife is the primary applicant but we will be using the savings account as POF that is under my name.

Can we only use the account that is under my name as POF and not submits anything from her account as it is in a different bank? the POF amount is transfers from my wife's account to the savings account.

I understand that I will have to make a consent letter signed by myself that my wife can access the account at any time and I am accompanying my wife in Canada.

My concern is, is it okay to only show one account that covers the POF, or do we have to show all the accounts?

Thank You

If an applicant’s spouse is accompanying, the applicant can show the funds held together in a joint account to meet the PoF requirement. However, to be able to show the funds for meeting the PoF requirement, held in an account under the spouse’s name only, the applicant must prove that they have access to the funds. This can me done by the spouse executing an affidavit affirming that the funds held in the spouse’s account can be used by the applicant for the purpose of meeting the PoF requirements.
