1. Can I show the funds from my spouse bank account for settlement fund requirement.. or should I transfer the money from her account to my (primary applicant) account and then get the bank statement.

2. If do the above, should I have make a Gift deed to show the source of funds as around 10,00,000 INR equivalent to 20,000 CAD is in my spouse account as an Fixed deposit (savings).

You can use her account details as collective source of funds and explain that in LOE. Also, attach her bank statements. Additionally, get her self-declaration in another LOE stating that she has no objection in letting you use her funds as part of settlement proof for the application for which she is a secondary applicant and is also accompanying you to Canada.

Thanks, Kashjuni. Is there a limit on number of LOEs we use ? and yes, she is accompanying me in the EE.
And also in my case, the entire fund requirement will be met by wife's bank balances.. Does it sound fine ?

My wife is accompanying me and all the funds are in her name. She is going to write a letter stating that the funds are free for me to use and she is accompanying me.

Thanks for the info, it helps.. but are you are referring to the LOE as the letter or just a plain statement from spouse.. please confirm..

I have a similar situation, wherein, my spouse has around Rs 5 lakh (~10 k CAD) in her saving account. I have mutual funds for about the same amount, but my savings account has almost nil average balance, as I used to transfer my funds into investments/ FDs. I am the primary applicant.

To sort out the average balance issue, I am planning to include my name into my wife's savings account, by converting it into a joint account. I will further liquidate the mutual funds and transfer into the joint account.

Will the the above procedure be ok for smooth processing of my PR? Kindly advise.

Thanks in advance.

My wife will write a letter addressed to CIC which I plan to attach along with LOE.
