1. Visa office will not ask you from where you arrange the money.

2. You have many ways to manage POF, gift by father, selling father property, help from relative etc.

3. If money is in the bank account of principal applicant or accompany spouse applicant, It is considered as genuine and not borrowed.
what about FD in the name of dependent child who is also accompnying??? is that also be ok

Skilled workers and professionals: Proof of funds

The Government of Canada does not provide financial support to new skilled worker immigrants.

You must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your dependants after you arrive in Canada. You cannot borrow this money from another person. You must be able to use this money to support the costs of living for your family.

You will need to provide proof of your funds to the Canadian visa office in your home country when you submit your application for immigration.

The amount of money you need to support your family is determined by the size of your family. These amounts are updated every year.

Number of Family Members
Funds Required(in Canadian dollars)

1 $11,086
2 $13,801
3 $16,967
4 $20,599
5 $23,364
6 $26,350
7 or more $29,337

You do not have to show that you have these funds if you have arranged employment in Canada.

Hi All - Is the "bankers' drafts, cheques, travellers' cheques or money orders for the "Proof of Funds" in the "Port of Entry" allowed in the denominations of United States Dollars? or It should only be in the form of Canadian Dollars? Please advice. Thanks for your help.

Thanks a lot in advance for your response.

As long as you can show that you have the equivalent Canadian amount or more that has been asked for and in a currency redeemable/depositable in Canada ( eg euro , Pound etc ) it should be fine.

Disclosure of funds
If you are carrying more than C$10,000, tell a Canadian official when you arrive in Canada. If you do not tell an official, you may be fined or put in prison. These funds could be in the form of:

is it fine to show father gifted money to applicant

Fine
Do not tell them from where you arrange money.

There are thousands of applicant, Visa offices don't have time to track all the applicant.

Even a real father can not track his son's financial sources, how can other do that.

Do not be confuse, just deposit money in your own account and send to visa office, no body is going to ask you about from where you bring money.

Hope you understand......

I'm from Pakistan & I'm going to proof my funds by showing my "Fixed term deposits".

I would like to know that do I have to send the original certificates of fixed deposits or just copy of them. Further, my deposit certificates are in Pak rupee, so, do I use current conversion rate to check how much do I need of them in equivalence of required Canadian dollars?

Plz shade some light over my above said concerns.

Regards,

Salman.

3. You can show money in Pakistani currency.
4. You should show required amount, It depends on number of family member.
