POF at Landing

hi friends
i have a couple of questions regading POF
i am landing in Toronto with my family on 7th april
since i need to show some 17000 cdn as funds
is it possible to show my bank statement with hsbc along with a letter from hsbc showing the balance and the conversion into cdn?
also i have some 10 years fixed deposits in SBI in my name will they be valid?

Why r u taking the risk of being thrown out of the landing point itself.

CIC clearly means that POF for Landing should be in liquid form i.e traveller cheques, draft payable in Canada, etc.

First, SBI FD wont work.

Secondly, there have been instances where they have not acknowledged acc statements of banks like HSBC, CITI etc.

Best and safest way, take draft of 80% of the amt and 20% cash.
