Yes, it got to be much faster at federal level too. I just check my LOA when you asked. The text in part "for CIC" contains phrase "this guy is under strategic initiative". Somewhere at MPNP site I believe I saw "strategic get expedited", but now I tryed to check and do not find it... I am in process less then year but my humble experience show me that "general" people apparently slower at federal stage.
Hope it`s helpful. )

Pharmaceutist, thanks for sharing your experience.

At an another thread at this forum I was given a link: pnp[dot]appspot[dot]com where people shared their time lines on BC PNP. Like in any other PNP, on federal stage the process depends on the person's VO, but they still show average processing time at federal stage (different countries), it is 9 months. I wish they also identified a country of applicant.

So, with regards to your previous post, international student stream is considered by you as a "general" stream and it is slower than strategic one? But in BC, International students stream is under strategic category...

waiting for your comments...

I checked the site - you are right, foreign students are under strategic.
1. exploratory visits
2. oversea missions
3. foreign students
And recently for time being (till 30/06) 4. FSW backlog.
Students need two year of education in MB to apply.
I did not meet any students that go through MPNP but other people have time from LOA to POVL definitely shorter than 9 months.
Thanx for link, I see people get nominated pretty fast in BC. Most of us get nomination in 3 month and 1 day if estimated time is 3 month.

yeah, BC PNP has a pretty easy requirements for International students, this is why I chose this program. I hope that it won't be 19 months at federal level though =)

Question to Pharmaceutist
Today I finally was able to access my Ecas, so it says "Medicals have been received", "We started processing your file on March 22 2012. Question is how will I get my passport request by mail or email? How does MVO do it? Do you know by any chance? Also though my application still says "In Process" can't it be that they already have sent PPR by mail? I would really appreciate if you could help me with this. Thank you!

Sorry but medicals is in the future for me. On the my forum people say that they resieved POVL by email
"Dear Mr....,

Please find attached a Promise of Visa letter.

Sincerely,

Visa and Immigration Section
The Embassy of Canada, Moscow Russia
e-mail: mosco-immigration@international.gc.ca
website: www.canadianembassy.ru "
and there was a tabulation to fill and send with passports via Pony. Each passport must to send separately and costs $54 if you are in Russia.
Hope it`s helpful,
Eugene

Oh I see, thanks Eugene that's helpful. Now I know that they send it by email not mail which is great! I currently reside in Canada not too sure if I still can send my passport or not....
