Hi Guys,

I need your help. I am based & working in Dubai, UAE from last 3 years.

I am filling up IM0008 form and the point#10 ask me to enter the "Current Country of Residence". The available options in the drop down menu against this point are as follows:

1- Citizen
2- Permanent Resident
3- Visitor
4- Worker
5- Student
6- Others

What I need to select between Permanent resident & Worker. If I select PR then it does not allow me to enter dates (From - Till). But selecting worker allows me to enter dates. Kindly, advise me the right selection as I am confused about that.

This may be a basic level/foolish question. However, waiting for your kind response.

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Saffi,

Since you are on work visa, please choose "worker" as your current status of residence in UAE.

good day

Thanks a lot immrox!

I will select "worker".

It was confusing for me because UAE visa sticker on Passport shows "Residence". There is no such thing exist like "Worker Visa" in UAE. However, it make sense to select worker rather permanent resident as PR relates to applicant from UK or Australia who already holds PR Status in their respective countries.

One more question.

What I need to select for my family? As they are on my sponsor here (not on worker status or PR)?

I dont exactly know what UAE immigration stamps in passports for dependents, but in KSA they mention dependent on father's visa or dependent on husband's visa (for spouse) . You may write exactly what is mentioned in your dependents passport. Don't forget to choose "other" for it and in details choose "on family visa with spouse" etc.

hello guys, just done with our medical, hoping no more additional test! God bless us all!

Hi sset, all the best for the tests. When will they tell you about the outcome?

IMOO, no need to tell them to transfer it, as they will transfer it automatically if they determined that ADVO must process your file. we really don't know what is going on, anyway as long as you are aware of the progress of your application then let it be....however the decision still up to you.
