Unique Client Identifier (UCI) has eight digit and another is Visa Application file number which start with EP_ _ _ _.. In the e-mail i received you can use this two to check the status online for your references.

not yet, im still in process of completing / updating the docs...hopefully within this month i will be able to complete and send it to Abu Dhabi VO.

@justonce, where did you get those data- EPxxx, UCI and IME (I suppose)....
I only see this information in our medical request with our photos attached to be submitted to the DMP,
considering that we are the dependents of the principal applicant.


your file # (EBxxxx ..) usually appears on the subject or the data under your name in the letter sent to you by CEM.

Have you received an approval letter from the province already (Manitoba, Ontario, Sask, or Alberta)?
Once you received the LOA (letter of approval) from the province, you need to submit this LOA (together with other documents that you have submitted to the province) to the assigned embassy (for us its Abu Dhabi).
Once submitted, Abu Dhabi Office will send you a letter-- we call this the AOR.
From this AOR you should see your unique file number in which you can use to access your ECAS.

From the date it was accepted by the embassy (the docs with attached LOA from the province) up to the date you received the VISA, we call this the "federal stage".

Probably what you received is the temporary file number from the province, kindly check the letter head.

hi 501win,

yes i got already LOA from province of Manitoba. and i forwarded my visa application at ADB visa office dated July 11, 2011. Last november 10,2011 i received email from CIC that they confirmed my application for permanent residence visa was recieved by their office. and on the left upper side indicate the UCI number and also application number but my application number starts with EP...

but till now i cannot access on e-cas.

I also tried using my UCI and EP# and it doesn't really work...
are you under provincial stream? or FSW?
