Hey all,
I'm QSW, got CSQ in Octoboer 2013 and applied to CIC for federal in November 2013. Medicals received August 1, 2014 and I am ADVO - any of you have an idea how long it usually takes after doing medicals to get passport request? it has been 4 months already and i know that typical QSW are requested for passport within 3 months from medicals...

Any ideas?

My dear, first of all its very good that you have received medical request and finished this step. secondly, at ADVO they don't have specific time or procedures.
My timeline as mentioned below and till now I didn't receive medical call.
CSQ. December 2013.
FED APP. Received January 2014.
FED. AOR. February 2014.

Now just waiting.........

after one year they changed ECAS from application received to In Process, so don't send them much emails as CSE.

Do you think there could be any negative impact of sending emails to visa office?

In-demand immigrants’ applications will be processed in six months or less

December 1, 2014 — Ottawa — Canada’s Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander today confirmed it’s one month and counting until Express Entry launches a new phase of active immigration recruitment to meet economic and labour market needs. Potential candidates can create their profile on January 1st, 2015, with the first Invitations to Apply issued within weeks.

Express Entry will help select skilled immigrants based on their skills and experience. Those with valid job offers or provincial/territorial nominations will be picked first. Details published today in the Canada Gazette explain how candidates will be ranked and selected, based on these factors that research shows are linked to success in the Canadian economy. Research shows these criteria will help ensure newcomers participate more fully in the Canada’s economy and integrate more quickly into Canadian society.

Minister Alexander also highlighted that additional information was published on the CIC website to help potential immigrants and employers understand the new system, and to promote Canada as a destination of choice based on a strong economy, low taxes and job opportunities.

Express Entry will result in faster processing and will allow the Government of Canada to be more flexible and respond better to Canada’s changing labour market needs.

i am realy depressed from Abu Dabui slow progress

all the guys here doesnt receive the medical those who get the AOR from last 8 month

my file received at CIC from more than 5 month and the file trasnfered to Abu Dabui from more than 3 month and i think the path will be very far

They are always acting like Loins and make us slow like turtles.

I am at border line, waiting for a final decision. It is more than 50 days My meds received at Abu Dhabi office. However, no news till date. I wrote few email to ask about my file but no response as well. Few friends in this forums suggested me not to write too many emails to them.....

In my email I asked them if any thing I can do from my end to satisfy the requirements which can help to support for a final decision, if any thing pending or remain from my end so I fulfill it. I also mentioned that a lot of things in my life are on penfing status, however, I have to wait.......

They are use to with these type of emails and situations. And I also trust that they are doing their work correctly even they are slow. This is the reason we want to go to their country and want to live there like our country...

The main problem they are not responding to any email at all.

If you are lucky you will get one respond to your email in your journey.

By the way they are the only office which is not responding to any emails.

Cairo office , UK office, India office >> they all respond to emails

Except Abu Dhabi office and I really don't know the reason.
