Happy Easter everyone!

Feeling blessed - finally received MR last Thursday, 17th April - 190 days (6 months & 8 days) after CIC received our application.
We had our medical today (e-result expected in 2-3 days). Thank God for this blessing! On to the next stage of the waiting game

Our status to date:

6-Apr-13 Online application
9-Apr-13 Application receipt acknowledgement
12-Apr-13 SP2 sent
29-Apr-13 SP2 receipt acknowledgement
9-Sep-13 Sponsor interview
13-Sep-13 LOA (received 20th by sponsor; 29th by applicant)
9-Oct-13 CIC application received by KRSZWDA (sent 7th Oct)
??? AOR - we did not receive it!
24-Mar-14 Started processing
17-Apr-14 MR
20-Apr-14 Medical done

ms pachochay, you received your medical form right? it is indicated there the Application number and also the UCI.. that is your aor already ;D

Hi Itguy,

Were you done with your Meds. So good to hear you already have MR. In my case, I was requested to submit additional docs. Still on the process to apply for it. Target to send the docs on 1st week of May. I hope ADVO will process our MR immediate after then.

forum mates, specially senior members tulong po regarding bank/demand drafts. what should we exactly tell to the bank if we want to purchase bank drafts.

here is the instruction for our RPRF

"the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) before we issued a visa. You must pay the amount of CAD$ 490 each for yourself, the principal applicant, and your spouse or common law partnet(if applicable). Dependent children are exempt.

Becuase rates of exchange vary, the fee accompanying applications "MUST" be paid by "BANK DRAFT" only in Canadian Dollars drawn on Bank in Canada showing the full mailing address of the bank in canada. bank draft must be valid for 6months and should be made payable to "THE RECEIVER GENERAL FOR CANADA" Bank drafts can be purchased at most banks"

how does this works? need help urgently.... our deadline for submission of passport is on 10th of May.

You have to simply go to your bank branch and request the teller to issue a bank draft for Canadian Dollars XX (i.e. your total RPRF amount) in favor of THE RECEIVER GENERAL FOR CANADA. It must be drawn on a bank branch in Canada. Your bank will know what to do as issuing bank drafts is a routine transaction for banks.
After obtaining the bank draft, write your name and application number on its back and dispatch to ADVO along with the rest of the documents/passports etc requested by them.

thanks fro the reply lawrence2007. we will check with the bank (emirates nbd) tomorrow. coz we spoke to one of the costumer service representative from our bank and they were saying something like " we can't issue a bank draft that service is only for locals( Emiratis) which i think is non sense...so we will check with our bank tomorrow.

im sprry im not good in in this kind of things thats why im really confused.

Yes, the bank staff will know what to do. You do not need to tell them the specific branch name/address in Canada. If they ask you which bank or branch do you want the draft to be drawn on, tell them 'Make it drawn on any bank in Canada'.

Again, no worries as this is a routine thing for banks.

However I will recommend if you have credit card then pay from it to avoid any hassle and confusions.

if pnly they will allow me to pay by credit card there will be no issue.. but its very specific in the instruction on our PPR letter that RPRF should be paid using bank draft only...

anyhow we will check tomorrow and i will let you guys know..

Ohhh really , for me they have mensioned both options.

If that is the case then pay it through draft only, it's not complicated process.

I paid using a bank draft as ADVO instructed to use this mode of payment. I tried to pay online through credit card but my payment could not go through as every time I tried, I got an error message.

I cannot access my E-cas it always shows Page cannot be displayed...

My medical result has been submitted already just today by my physician through e-medical services. anyone who encountered the same problem?
