My If you look at the PNP trackers, you will see that they are issuing PR for people who submit their applications around Oct 2018. I have two guesses:
1- Any application before that was sent to detailed security check. Unfortunately, This security check seems to take up to 6 months.
2- It seems that the detailed security check starts after 11 months the application is received.

These are just guesses based on statistics and there is no solid proof for that.
By the way, I am in the same boat with you :)
I do believe every case is different, I don't think the officer in the LVO will do more screens to others based on the date of the application... The background check is always taken the most of the time in the whole process. The question how long?! Each country and individual including your job and your company and your father background wife background... etc... So when it comes to security and background checks I don't really worry much about it... Let them do the homework as by process,

What about mine? I have called twice and the agents confirmed that the background check has already been done, but I am still waiting.

I got medical passed on aug 26 .. nothing after that... actual time is around 18 months.. you have a lot time left yet... for pnp mine is paper file .

It means for those who add their spouses after AOR has to wait longer for ppr. Because those who are single or those who had dependent before applying the PR got their MR and PPR in 8 to 10 months. But those who added the spouse are waiting and waiting.

Not always. There doesn't seem to be any standard rule or preference regarding single and/or dependent timelines.
There are many of us single's nearing 18 months without PPR, and others with dependents who have PPR sooner.

Everything depends on the LVO, the Officer, your home country, your countries visited, criminal history, education history, Medical history, employment verification's, police checks, external agencies and the efficiency of all the other countries involved.

Each application is a very long chain, and if one link in the chain is slow or temporarily broken, the rest of the chain has to slow down or temporarily stop too.

It's nowhere near as simple as 'singles get processed faster than those with dependents'.
