I also had to file for work permit extension which expired January 11th, 2021
Tried to avoid filling for extension as I saw here someone had his application cancelled after Decision made.

But in my knowledge I figured we should apply for extension if you’re in such situation don’t lose your status and make own assumptions based on other’s applications, I called IRCC as well got same response.
That’s their decision for WP extension: rejection or approval.
And it’s mentioned no where that we shouldn’t apply for extension after DM.(My agent)

Hi Sandy, would you mind sharing what date you applied for the work permit extension? Have you received any email / notice from IRCC that your application is cancelled since you have DM/COPR? I'm just wondering when I might expect my work permit application to get cancelled, since I got DM today, assuming and praying that it's positive DM. Thanks!

Hi Sandy, please do let me know how the work permit extension goes. I saw another peer of ours on the form saying that his extension was canceled soon after he applied, and he was refunded the application fees. He asked his immigration lawyer and they said it is because he already has DM in the system.

I had the PGWP so I just applied for the Bridging Work Permit. And I did it about one month before my work permit expired.

See if you qualify.

After about one week of applying, IRCC issued me a letter stating that my original work permit will be extended for 3 months, while the new one is being processed.

MR - Nov 26th, 2020 (sent email day of to link with upfront )
Profile updated Dec 20TH - we have not received the results of your medical

I have called and they said that my medical is on my profile, but has yet to link to my application.
Anyone dealing with this delay for their medicals?

Thanks joekao for sharing - "unfortunately" my current work permit wasn't going to expire until 2022; it's just it's a closed permit so the recent government announcement allows me to apply for an open one.

Could you update us when you have an update on your permit application? I'm wondering if IRCC will cancel it since you've already passed DM too? Thanks!
