If you find a new job offer from another employer, your province will update your nomination and new WP. You just let IRCC know about employer change and PR application process will go as usual.

Thanks.
Just to understand how it works.
The process for the pr is based on the PNP but they'll re-check if you are still working there?

Obviously with an employer-specific work permit you can't work in other companies but I have a small web agency with a couple of colleagues (because my old lawyer said that you can do work by yourself with this kind of permit) .

So ok, if I change company I have to contact them to change the permit but if I don't work in any company at all (because I can just work only by myself for a year, it's not ideal but I can survive) this will affect the pr?

If your pnp is job offer stream like mine and has the employer name on it, you can’t change jobs, I got a really good offer and was going to change .I contacted the province they say I have 90 days to make the new company signed another agreement. So if you quite you no longer qualified for pr under job offer restrictions.

Thanks, at least now I know.

Because I was checking the timing in this topic and I'm very far from the pr. I applied in August and here I see people with 2 years of total process.
For a few months I was considering to organize something with the company and go there 2-3 days a week (even using a hotel or something) and work remotely for the rest but I can't do it for 2 years.

You can try changing employer if you get a job you like. I’m already here also 2 year and I don’t like it at all but I don’t want to Delay thé process longer

I'm in a similar boat I think, except my employer terminated my department because of COVID. But I'm on a closed work permit so it's been harder finding an employer willing to do the paperwork + compliance fee so I can get another closed work permit with them.

But my understanding is:
  • My (BC) PNP nomination is with this employer as well as my NOC
  • I would need to find a new employer with the same NOC in order to continue my BC PNP application.
  • When I find a willing employer, I'll notify BC PNP (but not sure what the process is afterwards - if I'll get an updated nomination and/or work permit support letter or ??)
  • I'll have to apply to IRCC for new closed work permit with this employer (however, there is a new process where I can start working for this employer before I receive my new closed work permit - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...esidence/work-permit/changing-employment.html)
  • And my application should continue with this employer
I've also read that IRCC has been asking people about job offers later in the process to "double-check" employment - but not sure if everyone gets asked that as part of background check.

Hope you'll figure out something that works for you!

PNP allows you to change your workplace, but it's a long process. Your next company has to be willing to take over your process. And you have to wait until PNP issue you a new work permit. Which is take 3 months around
