When did you applied for your GCMS notes ?????

Checked my notes after saw your comment, also there is the mark on top right corner. I guess security has started for me.

i got my GCMS notes today It says location ready for PS and i have S15(1) on top right corner. but security shows not started yet.
in april they told me
We verified the information on file and can confirm that:

The background verifications are valid
The security background verification has not been initiated.
The criminal background verification is currently valid.
i passed medical in June and i asked the magain they replied as follows.
We verified the information on file and can confirm that:

The background verifications are in process.
The security background verification has not been initiated.
The criminal background verification is currently valid.
The medical results on file are valid.

Criminality checks consist mainly of examining the information that accompanies an application, which includes a police certificate (PCC) from all countries where the applicant has lived for more than six months.

Security is a more comprehensive process where CSIS and CBSA provide security advice to IRCC, see more about this here and also below

Both criminality and security are part of background checks

what does S15(1) means?

When GCMS notes are issued there is information in the email from IRCC as in this example. 15(1) is an exemption taken under the Access to Information Act to withhold information from public disclosure. For inland applicants who can obtain their GCMS for free under the Privacy Act the corresponding exemption is 21. The exemption grid can be seen here

The processing of your request is now complete. Please refer to the following for an explanation as to what was released:
Disposition of your records: Disclosed in part
Section(s) of the Act applied (if applicable): 15(1) The detection, prevention or suppression of subversive or hostile activities

Not necessarily.
If on page# 2 under Assessment section Security is blank (redacted) then it's underway/completed. Security will be either "Not started" or blank.
When there is related activity or security is completed the Admissibility section will look like this

Your best bet for an accurate picture of the status is requesting your Gcms Notes, more so since your are inland and can request it for free.

The progress bar just shows the time elapsed from the day an application is submitted. It does not inform what stage or how far an application has been processed.

It's free to apply for oneself if in Canada at https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en. There is a nominal fee of $5 if you get help from a friend or relative in Canada. The last option is to use a 3rd party
