One year completed yesterday of my PR app with CIC. A friend advised to hire an immigration lawyer who can expedite the processing. I am not convinced that lawyer can help at this point. My notes clrealy mention that all requirements met and final assessment in process which I suppose relates to background check. Anybody used lawyer at this stage? TIA

I already have 14 and half month behind me and not even passed medical exam :/ I think lawyer won’t speed it up, but it’s only my personal opinion

Have anyone got additional document letter of requesting the Police Clearance Certificate from CIC before?

They stated, "Please provide a recent and original police certificate. Please note that the police certificate we have on file appears to be a photocopy. We do not accept photocopies or laminated police certificates."

Are they requesting the new Police Clearance Certificate or just send them original copy of current Police Clearance Certificate is fine?
I just sent them the original copy of current PCC because this PCC is issued on July 11th 2017 and the application package checklist clearly states, "Police certificate are generally considered to be valid for one year from date of issue."

Some countries PCCs looks like photo copies. Visa officers misunderstand that one.

Well, it was my fault that I submitted photocopy one before.
I did that because I got one original copy, made photocopy for this application, and send that to other PR application.
So, do you think they are requesting new one or the one I have right now (for original copy)?

Lol....so mistake is from your side . Not from CIC side......Just kidding.
Better you send new one . Because old one validity is expiring soon. Further communication will prolong your processing time.

I already sent the current one with the scanned version.
How can I send the new one then?
Plus, in my opinion, the terms NEW and RECENT are two different meaning.
I think if they want NEW Police Certificate, then they would write NEW Police Certificate in the letter?

Why you sent scanned copy along with original one.

Getting a lawyer does not give you advantage over others, it all depends on your officer handling your application. Some of them have many work loads to deal with, some are very fast with sorting out application while some take forever. Be prayerful and hopeful. All the best
