Med Passed: 15th Feb 2018

May I ask what exactly means by updated on the first page?
When you log in mycic, there is a your application status box with blue box you can access to details of your application. And beside of blue box, if the status changes from “submitted” to “updated” without any changes in the second page it might be a good sign for ppr as manu people got their ppr after they got “updated” on the first page.

Hi all,

My wife's and my current work permit expires March 23.

We've done our medical exam on 15-JAN-2018 and got "passed" on it two weeks later.

I'm looking for alternatives to NOT renew our work permits (saving CAD$500!!!) as our PR is literally turning the corner.

Does anyone have any thought to share about this?

Thanks
You need to renew, because when landing, they will ask for valid work permit.
so, if you renewed even not coming, at least can approve that you have valid work permit and new one is one the road.

if your work permit is expired, then this is another story, they have rights to not let you landing.

My suggestion is get every documents valid, don't try to think if it is works.
$500 keeps you and your wife PR process successful which is worth. otherwise, you may have to hire a lawyer to handle theses.

Got our CoPR yesterday. Will try and book a landing appointment as soon as possible.

20 Oct 2016: App received
27 Dec 2017: Medical done
28 Feb 2018: Background in Progress
02 Mar 2018: PPR
05 Mar 2018: Passports mailed
11 Mar 2018: Passports and CoPR returned

Unlike what most are saying on here, our CIC login account has yet to update since PPR. There is no "updated" or new document listed on there, even after receiving our passports and CoPR yesterday. It does say there is now a counterfoil and when the CoPR expires, but no actual document. Also, it does say our application was approved, just no message. So for others with similar, just because you do not see an update on it does not mean there is no update.

PS. One funny thing to note is due to the length our application took, we had to request a second Bridging Open Work Permit. It had even just arrived a day before we got PPR. If we land within the month, we wouldn't even have had to use it. But it was better safe than sorry to have.

Good luck the rest of you!

Thank you! Will you receive an Email for this update?

My bg check says we are processing ur bg in CIC login but on ecas it doesn't say anything about bg. What does it mean ? Is it in process or not yet?
