The email from CIC says we did they receive our file and CIC counts the months from there as well so do all of us.

Is that just a sincere optimistic hope or it's your speculation based upon some inside news?

sympathetic gesture lol. We all are pretty much in a same boat, i wish i could see how do they work. we are here in Canada from last 6 7 years, have Canadian education and experience but still are treated like criminals, rather than fixing their issues they are punishing us. On the other hands some applicants are getting their P.Rs in 6 months and some provincial nominees in 14 to 16 months

Thats why its 20 months gone bt no ppr... still waiting when i call to cic they said ur file sent to edmonton visa office for background check...

Response to my local MP Inquiry....
· The application was received at the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney (CIO Sydney), Nova Scotia office on December 14, 2016.

· The initial assessment to ensure the applicant’s submission is complete, has been finalized.

· The CIO Sydney office reviewed the application and documents submitted and determined that the applicant meets the eligibility requirements under the class for which they have applied.

o the eligibility requirements assessment was finalized on September 25, 2017.

· The medical examination results are on file and valid until January 18, 2019.

· The criminality verifications are currently valid.

· The security verifications have not been initiated.

· As per our current processing times, it may take up to19 month(s) to finalize the application. However, processing times indicated on our website are approximate, and can vary with each individual case.

Yeah thats true they are just playing and keeping our files on the side. They are not doing anything.

My local MP tried enquiring status of my application but was told that my file is atip exempt by cic. I dont know what's taking them so long to finalize my application my medical is expiring this week. Does anyone know what atip exempt means? Thanks

Hey so a little update on mine. My online login only shows that they requested medical, when I call up and listen to the pre-recorded info on my case it says that the background check is in progress. This has been the case for some weeks, so today I spoke to an agent at IRCC and he said that my case was with the officer for final review - does anyone know how long this takes? TIA

I Also got remedical for my spouse on 19 june. Dec 29, 2016 applicant heew.

Hey there .. same happen with me.. my medical done on january 11 2018 nd my husband remedical done on 3 april 2018 still waiting for ppr....
