I am December 9 2016 applicant, i just called cic, spoke to the agent. they say my eligibility has been met which is a positive thing ( online it shows checking if i meet the eligibility or not) they say only the background check is going on and it does not have any specific time frame as its done via both local and international platform. he said everything else looks good. well, hoping for the best. apparently we do not have control over this so all i can do is wait.

i can't remember off top of my head, the menu is pretty self-explanatory. You need to move through the menu to checking the status of your application and after you hear your statuses it will ask if you want to speak to the agent, you press zero and wait (sometimes you have to wait for 30-40 minutes). I find that the best time to call is either 8 am Ottawa time or after 4 pm.

I was told same thing last week. Eligibility is passed, and so is everything else, they are waiting for the last BG check.

1 1 2 1 then will ask to enter your application number according to the first 2 letters of its EPxxxxxxx with a pound sign (#) OR Something else... then your dob, then the automatic voice command will tell you your status and after that will give you the following options, press 0 to speak to an agent. the call time is 8 to 4 pm. try early morning tomorrow.
